America back on top?

Posted in Uncategorized on March 4, 2009 by teamrobot

He’s not there yet (PS: no pressure, buddy), but Aaron Gwin looks to have a lot of what it takes to not just compete, but to win. He’s got the best race head any American has brought to the table, maybe ever.

But hey, even if losing is the name of the game, those scrubs are still retarded.

But hey, even if his scrubs are retarded, that does not help the fact that Clay Porter’s music choice is often, ummm, unfortunate.

Wrist Update

Posted in Uncategorized on March 3, 2009 by teamrobot

If you aren’t up to speed, Team Robot Rider Chazbot has had some shitluck with his left wrist. 4 injuries later, here we are:

After breaking my wrist for the fourth time, and after realizing that the recommended treatment wasn’t exactly working, I finally saw another doctor. After three repitions of the same injury, I finally changed something. That means I change my behavior at the same speed as the average rat. Dialed! Rats are cool, right?

By the way, that’s what a BBQ rat looks like.

Anyway, I’m really glad I saw another doctor. My last doctor diagnosed three injuries in-a-row as a broken wrist. It appears that I actually did break my wrist the first time, but all subsequent injuries were to the soft-tissue; apparently I tore my TFCC. I didn’t know what that was, so I consulted my doctor. He provided this helpful diagram:

If you type “Triangular Fibrocartilage Complex” into Google Images, you will get this image on the first page of hits:

I’ll either be able to ride in 3 weeks, 8 weeks, or 6 months depending on where I choose to go from here with recovery and possibly with surgery. That means either no races missed, one race missed, or all but one race missed. Woohoo.

Learn from my suffering: If you also hope to use MS-Paint in a desperate cry for help, or to mask the pain of a recent wrist injury, or to hide your pitiful shell of a life with lame attempts at humor, there is good news:

Actually there isn’t, your life sucks.

Believe in your dreams.

More Adam Hauck (we’re not gay)

In a word: tireslide. Saw this edit on the blackmarketbikes website. I thought it was sweet. Team Robot approved.

Adam Hauck=Fantastic Cyclist!

Sir Adam

Team Robot gives Adam Hauck the TR seal of approval. He drives a GTI, kills it on 2 wheels, and doesn’t ride like the East Coast hacks that surround him. Team Robot even had the opportunity to build the jumps that almost killed him at the Whambam indoor contest.

Fortunately Team Robot failed at destroying his weak human organism, because recently he became one of the few humans to successfully win at life:

My bad.

Hurty Paw

Posted in Uncategorized on February 15, 2009 by teamrobot

So, I broke my wrist again, making this the fourth time. That’s three times too many.

Anyway, the Doc I’ve been going to, an Orthopedic Sports Medicine Specialist, told me three times in a row to just splint it, and it should be okay. Clearly, it was not. I knew, after the fourth break, that it was time to change.

So change I did. Now I’m seeing the Northwest’s leading Orthopedic wrist and hand specialist, Bob Ray from Ebay.info. His proprietary wrist healing techniques were getting so popular, he had to publish several excellent and informative Youtube videos to help people like me:

I’m now taking “this stuff,” at just 99 cents per bid! What a deal! Thanks Bob!

Thanks to all the people who called to see how my hurty paw was doing. You guys rule. Healing, here I come!!
